R.E.M‘s Michael Stipe recently officiated the wedding ceremony of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love‘s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. After dating for nearly 3 years, she married professional skateboarder, Riley Hawk.

Co-founder of Nirvana, Kurt Cobain died from overdose in 1994 when Bean was about a year-and-a-half old.

TMZ just reported that the marriage took place on October 7. Little is known about the actual ceremony, but Stipe is the bride’s Godfather.
